Gill Ranch Storage construction update

Gill Ranch Storage is more than three-quarters complete. As the project enters the final stages of construction, the company is busy testing and commissioning equipment to prepare for the targeted October 1 injection date. All employees based at Gill Ranch Storage have been hired, including Plant Supervisor Arlon Eklund.

 

The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) San Francisco Section-Fresno Branch has announced Gill Ranch Storage the recipient of the 2009 Large Project of the Year Award. Gill Ranch was nominated for the project’s geotechnical research and its integrated approach to storm water pollution prevention, drainage, erosion, sediment control, shallow groundwater monitoring and emergency response planning.

About Our Developers

The project is being developed by Gill Ranch Storage, LLC (GRS) and Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E). GRS is a wholly owned subsidiary of NW Natural, a local gas distribution company based in Portland, Ore.
